Madeira beaches offer picturesque landscapes, charming villages and temperate year round climate.
One of the island’s greatest attractions is undoubtedly its beautiful beaches and mountains, but you’ve got to be brave to explore them. It’s a steep, scary ride!
Reserve an automatic transmission if you’re renting a car … which is probably the best way to explore the island — if you’re a brave driver.

You can easily do a one day stop and hike along my favorite part, the Zambujeira cliffs or you can embark on a 4 day inn-to-inn hike. It’s much less steep than Madeira and offers incredible ambiance and food.
