Hiking Training

Hiking Training: For Beginners & Pro Hikers

As a physical therapist with 17 years of experience, I can confidently say that hiking training is essential for any hiker.

When it comes to preparing for a hike, many people focus solely on cardio and strength training. However, proper hiking training involves much more than just physical conditioning.

Hiking is meant to be fun, and your training should reflect that. Some of the best training for hikers includes trail running, hiking with a weighted pack, and yoga.

Increased strength will results in less fatigue and help you tackle more challenging terrain or distances.

So don’t wait until the week before your big hike to start training. Incorporate hiking training and mindset work into your regular exercise routine and make it a priority. Trust me, your body will thank you for it.
